Monty House
It's called Monty House, on Warrenby Street in Saltburn. It's right in the town, a fifteen-minute walk from the cliff top. From there you can get the tram down to the beach, or walk.
The house sleeps six, across three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. One's a shower room on the ground floor, good for washing sand off. Upstairs, there's a main king bedroom with a day bed if you have a small child, a zip-and-link twin that can be a super king, and a room with triple bunks. It's all quite bright and colourful inside.
Downstairs, there's a living room at the front with big windows and an open fire. The back is open-plan, kitchen and dining, with a raised second sitting area that has a games console. The garden out the back is enclosed, but small. There's a lockable outdoor store though, useful for bikes or surfboards.
Saltburn's a surfing spot, so the beach is the main thing. It's a long sandy beach. There's a surf school, paddleboard hire, and beach yoga in summer. The pier is nice for a walk. You're well placed for the coast. Staithes and Runswick Bay are close, and Whitby's about twenty minutes in the car.
For walking, the Cleveland Way runs along the cliffs here. You can do bits of it to Staithes or Whitby. The North York Moors are inland, maybe half an hour's drive. A good base for both.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. There's also a highchair.
