Sea View Penthouse - Regency Mansion

This is the Sea View Penthouse. It's in Regency Mansion, right on the front at Redcar. If you look out of the windows, you're basically looking at the beach.

It's an apartment, so you're on the top floor of the big building. There's a lift. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a big group. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not overly fancy.

The main thing is the location. You step out of the front door and you're on the promenade. The town centre shops and cafes are a two-minute walk that way. The beach is right there. They have horse racing on the beach sometimes.

Redcar itself has the usual seaside stuff: arcades, fish and chips, a decent stretch of sand. For a different feel, Saltburn-by-the-Sea is about ten minutes in the car. It's got a nice pier and a cliff lift. People surf there.

You're well placed for day trips. Whitby is about 40 minutes' drive. Go for the Abbey, the harbour, the Goth weekends. The North York Moors are on your doorstep for walks. The heritage coast has places like Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay, which are all good for a wander and a pub lunch. You can get on the North York Moors Railway at various points.

The building itself has a bit of history. It was used as a film location for 'Atonement'. It used to be a hotel where jazz bands played.

Inside, you've got the practical stuff: a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's a small patio area with seating.
