The Grand Terrace is in Saltburn. It's the big, curved, Grade II listed building on the seafront. You can't miss it. It used to be a fancy hotel, now it's divided into apartments. This one is on the first floor.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The main thing is the view. You get the whole bay, looking out to sea. You can sit on the terrace and watch the waves. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with high ceilings and a bit of that old hotel grandeur left over.
The stairs up to the front door are the original stone steps from the hotel. They're wide and a bit of a climb, but you only do them once with the bags. There's a lift inside the building for coming and going after that.
You're right in the middle of everything. The beach, the pier, shops, cafes and a pub are about a minute's walk away. The beach is sandy and long. People surf here all year round. You can hire boards or get lessons just down the road.
If you want to explore, Whitby is about 20 minutes by car. Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay are a similar distance. The Cleveland Way footpath runs along the cliff tops right past the building. For a bigger day out, you're on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's a parking space on site. No pets.
