Bosuns Rest

It's called Bosuns Rest. It's a cottage in Staithes, North Yorkshire. It's up on the bank just outside the main village, so you're a couple of minutes walk from the harbour.

The place sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy.

It used to be an army bunker from the First World War. They've done it up inside so it's comfortable and warm, but you can still tell what it was. The ceilings are low in some doorways, so mind your head if you're tall. It's got a 4 Star rating.

You can bring two dogs. There's a bit of garden outside with a sitting area and parking right there.

In the village, there are a couple of shops, pubs, and cafes. It's a proper old fishing village with narrow passages. The Cleveland Way footpath runs right past, so you're straight onto the coast path for walks.

Whitby is about eleven miles away if you want the bigger town, the Abbey, or that steam railway. The North York Moors National Park is on the doorstep for driving or walking. There's a golf course a few miles away in Brotton.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and the bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair.

Because it's one of four old bunkers done up together, you can book the others if you've got a bigger group. They're right next to each other.
