Highfields
This is Highfields in Runswick Bay. It's a big house right on the cliff top with the sea at the back. You get a lawn and a raised deck looking straight out over the water. You can watch the beach appear and disappear with the tide from there. Glass doors go from the deck into the living room.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, and every bedroom has its own bathroom. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. The kitchen has what you need. There's a wood burner in the living room.
There's parking for two cars on the drive at the front.
The house has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and in very good order.
The village is small. There are two pubs and a café within a few minutes' walk. One of them does food. To get down to the beach, you go down a steep path. The beach itself is sandy and dog friendly all year. The old cottages by the shore are worth a look.
You're right on the Cleveland Way walking path. Heading south, you can walk to Whitby. It’s about a 30 minute drive. Whitby has the Abbey, the old town, and plenty of places to eat. Further south is Robin Hood's Bay, which is all cobbled streets down to the sea.
Heading north up the coast, Staithes is about 10 minutes by car. It's a small fishing village with a narrow harbour. A bit further is Saltburn, which has a longer beach and a pier.
Facilities: Everything’s included. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. There's a BBQ on the deck. You can bring up to two dogs.
