Seaton Court
Seaton Court is on the edge of Staithes. It's the old hall, restored from ruins about twenty years ago. It's in its own grounds, so you're not overlooked, and you look out over fields towards the moors.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is useful. One bedroom is on the ground floor. The stairs inside are the original, so they are quite steep and narrow. Just so you know.
The place has a four star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The kitchen is hand-made, and the main room has these big old beams. It doesn't feel like a new build.
You can bring one dog. The area is good for walking dogs. There's a patio garden, and parking for your car.
In Staithes, there's a shop about half a mile away and a pub a bit further. There's a cafe on the estate too, run by the owners. The beach at Staithes is about a mile down a steep hill.
For walks, you can pick up the Cleveland Way along the cliffs. North York Moors National Park is right there. Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's Bay are along the coast, maybe fifteen minutes by car. Whitby is about twenty minutes drive. Saltburn is a bit further, maybe thirty minutes.
If you like steam trains, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is about half an hour inland. Useful links for planning days out are the National Trust Yorkshire and North York Moors National Park sites.
Facilities are what you'd expect: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
