Rockpool Cottage is in Staithes, on the Cowbar side of the harbour. The view from the front room and the main bedroom is straight out over the bay. It's a proper sea view, no buildings in the way.
It's a two-bedroom place, sleeps four. There's one bathroom. The refurbishment was done a while back, so it's comfortable and clean. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is about right.
The stairs are steep. They're the original cottage stairs. We've put a stairgate at the top for little ones.
You can park two cars right outside the cottage. That's a big plus in Staithes, where parking can be tricky.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The Cleveland Way path runs past the village. You can walk for miles along the coast from your door.
In the village, there are a few pubs, cafes, and shops. It's a five-minute stroll across the bridge to the main part of Staithes with the cobbled streets. The beach is good for rock pooling, which is where the cottage name comes from.
Whitby is about a 20-minute drive down the coast. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a nice day out. You can catch it from stations like Grosmont.
Included in the cottage: all bedding and towels, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. We provide a cot and highchair. There's no central heating, but there are electric fires in the living room and bedrooms. The parking is free and on-site.
