Blackgill Lodge is a 1700s stone cottage near Easington. It's on a hillside and you get to it via a half-mile rough track. It's for two people.
The place was renovated a few years ago so it's in good shape. It's open plan downstairs, with the kitchen at one end. The patio doors open onto a balcony that looks out over fields towards Staithes and the sea. You can see the water from there on a clear day.
Upstairs is the bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It's got a roll-top bath and a separate power shower. We leave bathrobes and slippers for you. The stairs are a bit steep, like most old cottages.
There's a decked terrace outside with a chiminea. I live next door with my dogs, and you're welcome to use the shared lawn and the summerhouse.
It's very quiet here. The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away in Staithes. The village shop is in Easington, three miles.
You can walk straight from the cottage down into Staithes and join the Cleveland Way. Staithes has a few pubs, a café, and an art gallery. It's about a three mile walk.
Whitby is 13 miles away if you want more shops and the Abbey. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is about 15 minutes by car, and it has a pier and is good for surfing.
In terms of what's here, the place has a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
