This is Beck View Cottage in Staithes. It’s an end-of-terrace place, right down in the old part of the village. You look out the side window and you're basically looking at the beck. It's a nice view.
It sleeps two, one bedroom. The bedroom has its own shower room attached. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well looked after and comfortable. There’s a wood burner in the main room, which is open plan. It’s small but it works.
You’re a couple of minutes' walk from the harbour and the lifeboat station. There are three pubs very close by. The Cod and Lobster is practically on the beach. You can walk along the Cleveland Way coastal path from the door, either towards Runswick Bay or towards Boulby. The beach is about a hundred yards away.
It’s a proper old fishing village, so the streets are steep and the cottages are packed in. You don't come here for big supermarkets, you come for the coast. Whitby is about nine miles south, Saltburn is north. Both are an easy drive. For a bigger trip, the North York Moors are right there.
The facilities are what you’d expect: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine. You can bring up to two dogs. It’s available over Christmas if that’s your thing.
