The Spencer Suite is a bungalow on the Spring Willows holiday park in Staxton. It's about six miles from Filey, and a bit further from Scarborough.
It sleeps four, but the second bed is a sofa bed in the living area. There's one proper bedroom with a double bed. Everything's on one level, and the doorways are wide enough for a wheelchair. It's all self-contained with its own front door.
The place is done up to a high standard. That's what the 4 Star rating means. It's modern, clean and smart. Everything works. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
Being on a holiday park, you get the use of the site facilities. There's a heated indoor swimming pool you can book privately. There's also a gym, a sauna, and a hot tub. The park has a bar that serves food and is dog friendly. There's a play area for kids.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a dog walking trail on the park, and a lot of the nearby beaches have dog-friendly sections.
For getting out, Filey beach is about a fifteen minute drive. The clifftop walks there are part of the Cleveland Way. The RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is nearby if you like seabirds. Scarborough and Bridlington are a short drive along the coast.
The medieval city of York is under an hour's drive away. It's a full day out with the Minster, the Shambles, and the city walls.
