Park Farm Cottage is in Flixton, on a quiet dead-end road. It's semi-detached and looks out onto a farmyard where we keep our horses. The fields start just behind it.
It's for four people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've renovated it, so it's in good shape. It's clean and straightforward, a comfortable base.
The local pub is about 300 yards away. They serve food. There's a shop a mile away.
Filey beach is about five miles drive. It's a big, sandy beach, quieter than Scarborough. You can walk the Yorkshire Wolds Way straight from the village. The landscape around here, the Wolds, is what David Hockney painted.
You're well placed for driving out. The North York Moors are about half an hour. The RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs is good for seabirds, about 20 minutes away. Malton, Pickering, and Beverley are all market towns within a 30 minute drive. York is under an hour.
For facilities: there's a woodburning stove, an enclosed garden with a barbecue, bike storage, parking here, WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
