The Sandpiper
The Sandpiper is in Filey. It's a mid-terrace house, so you've got neighbours either side. The big thing is it's about five minutes' walk to the beach. You don't have to get the car out.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms upstairs. One has bunk beds, one a king-size, and the main one is a super-king that can be split into two singles if you need it. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower over the bath upstairs, and a separate toilet downstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxury.
The living space is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofas, and patio doors out to the back. It's a good sociable layout. There's an electric stove that looks like a log burner for atmosphere. The back patio is enclosed, which is handy if you've got dogs or kids. There's a secure bit round the side for storing bikes or a surfboard.
You get one private parking space on site, which is a relief in the summer. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is there, but it's a standard connection.
Filey itself is a proper old-fashioned seaside town. The beach is long and sandy. There's a golf course just outside town. For walking, the Yorkshire Wolds Way starts nearby, and the National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline. You can drive to Scarborough in about 20 minutes, or head inland to the North York Moors in roughly half an hour. Whitby is about 40 minutes by car.
We take up to two well-behaved dogs. The stairs are standard for a house like this, no real quirks there. Please just clean up after your pets.
