The Bolthole is on the Bay Holiday Village site outside Filey. It's a detached place, so no neighbours through the wall. You've got your own bit of grass out the back with a table and chairs, and a barbecue there if you want it.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a five star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard. Things like memory foam mattresses, blackout blinds, and decent toiletries are provided. It's all on one floor, so the access is level, which is handy.
There's a wood burner in the main room for cooler nights. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. They leave a welcome basket with some bits and pieces to get you started. Bedding and towels are included.
The site itself has an indoor pool, a gym, a sauna and a steam room. There's a pub that does food and a cafe. For kids, there's a play park, a games room, and activities get put on in the holidays.
It's about a ten minute walk down to the beach. It's a huge sandy beach. When the tide's out, you can walk along it for miles towards Filey one way or Reighton the other.
Filey is three miles away. It's a proper old fashioned seaside town with shops and places to eat. Scarborough is about a twenty minute drive. Bridlington and Flamborough Head are within half an hour.
If you want to go further, the North York Moors National Park is about forty minutes. York is an hour's drive. The RSPB site at Bempton Cliffs is about fifteen minutes away. It's famous for the sea birds, especially the puffins.
