Sunny Bank

This is Sunny Bank. It's our place in Hunmanby Gap, near Filey in North Yorkshire. It's one of four cottages we have there, all in a row looking straight out at the sea.

It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. That's good if you don't want stairs. There are two bedrooms: one double and one with twin beds. They sleep four. There's one bathroom, which has a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

The main thing is the view. You get a full view of Filey Bay from the living room and the sun room. The sun room has French doors that open onto the garden. The garden is a good size, but it's not fully fenced in. The wind can get strong here in winter, so it's not secure for dogs or small children.

It's a three-star place. It's clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, but it's not luxury. You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

You're up on the cliff, so it's a short walk down a hill to get to the beach. There's a dog-friendly café at the bottom of the hill. The beach is sandy and massive when the tide's out.

Filey is a few minutes' drive south. It's a proper old-fashioned seaside town with a long promenade. Scarborough is about fifteen minutes north. You've got the castle, the harbour, and all the usual seafront things there.

If you like walking, the Cleveland Way path runs right past. For birdwatching, RSPB Bempton Cliffs is very close. You can see puffins in spring. The North York Moors National Park is about a half-hour drive inland if you fancy a change from the coast.

You can bring up to two dogs. We provide a cot if you need one.
