Ploughman's Cottage

Ploughman's Cottage is in Flamborough village. It's a converted barn, so it's a solid old building. You get some good views out over the fields.

It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well done and comfortable. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining and sitting area all together. It has underfloor heating on the ground floor, so it stays warm.

The cottage has its own garden with a patio, furniture, and a barbecue. You can park right outside.

Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. We include all the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. It's connected to WiFi and there's a TV. You can bring up to three dogs.

The village shop and a couple of pubs are about three-quarters of a mile away. The pub food is decent. The lighthouse is about a mile's walk from the door. You can go on tours in the summer.

The coastline here is the main thing. You can walk down to Selwick's Bay for the beach and rock pools. The cliffs at Flamborough Head are spectacular. The RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is about a ten minute drive. It's one of the best places in the country to see seabirds like puffins.

Flamborough Head Golf Course is very close. Bridlington is about three miles south. Scarborough and Filey are along the coast, maybe twenty and thirty minutes by car.

If you're planning to explore the area, the Welcome to Yorkshire site is useful, and the East Yorkshire site has good local information.
