Percheron Cottage is one of the holiday cottages here on our farm. It's a two bedroom place, sleeps three. It's got a three star rating, which is about right. It's clean and warm but not fancy.
The cottage was one of the old farm buildings. We've kept it simple. It's open plan downstairs. The stairs are a bit steep, so you do need to watch them.
You're on a working farm. You'll hear the animals and see us going about our day. There's a big shared field out the front and a kids' play area. We've got a farm shop and cafe here too.
The bathroom has a shower and a bath. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is outside.
Bridlington is about a mile away. Two beaches and the harbour. For a walk, Sewerby Hall is basically next door. The grounds are nice and you can get the land train into town. The clifftop walk back is good.
Flamborough and Bempton Cliffs are a short drive north. Bempton is an RSPB reserve. Lots of seabirds, puffins in season. Filey and Scarborough are up that way too.
South you've got Hornsea and Hull. Inland, the Wolds are nice for driving through. Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are both within half an hour if you like big old houses.
There's a local pub about five minutes walk away. They do food. No pets, sorry.
If you're planning trips, the North York Moors National Park site is useful, as is Welcome to Yorkshire.
