South Villa

South Villa is in Sandsend, right on the seafront. It's one of a row of old houses facing the beach. Sleeps seven, across four bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.

The living room is at the front in the bay window. You can sit there and watch the sea. The kitchen's at the back, modern with an island you can eat at. There's a small enclosed yard out there too, if you want to sit outside.

There's one family bathroom, with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The stairs are a bit steep, as they are in these old houses. Two bedrooms are on the first floor, and two more are up on the second floor. One of the top floor rooms is a double with a good view, the other is a single under the eaves.

Sandsend itself is a small village. The beach is sandy at low tide. There's a local shop, a couple of cafes, a pub, and a seafood restaurant nearby. You can sometimes see surfers and paddleboarders from the beach. There's a surf school if you fancy a lesson.

For walking, the Cleveland Way path runs right past the door. You can walk north to Runswick Bay and Staithes, or south into Whitby. Whitby is about a ten minute drive. It's got the abbey, the old town streets, and the harbour. The North York Moors National Park starts just behind the village. You can drive in, or get the steam train from Whitby to Pickering. It stops at places like Goathland.

In the house you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's no dedicated parking, but you can usually find a space on the street nearby. No pets, I'm afraid.
