This is Whalers Cottage. It's on a street in Whitby itself, so you're in the middle of the town from the moment you step outside.
It's a tall, thin house, so it's got a few floors. You go in on the ground floor into the kitchen and dining area. It's got what you need. The living room is up another flight of stairs. There's a bathroom and the main bedroom with a kingsize bed on the second floor. Up one more level, there's a second bedroom with a double and a single bed.
The stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow in places. It's just how the house is built. Something to be aware of if you've got anyone who finds stairs difficult.
It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. Bedding and towels are included. There's wifi, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if you need them.
You're a five minute walk from the harbour and the old town. Whitby Abbey is up the 199 steps from there. The beach is close by too. The North York Moors National Park starts just outside the town, so you can drive into the moors or walk the coast path straight from the door.
Other places within about half an hour by car: Robin Hood's Bay is along the coast, it's a steep little fishing village. Staithes is similar. You can catch the steam train at Grosmont, which is part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
No pets, I'm afraid.
