Ash Cottage is in Newholm, just outside Whitby. It's one of four cottages converted from old sandstone barns. We're on a farm, so the main farmhouse is next door.
It sleeps six. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a modern conversion inside an old building. It's clean and the kitchen's well-equipped.
The main living area is open plan, with big glass doors that open onto the garden. The garden is a decent size and it's just lawn, really. It goes down to a pond at the bottom. There are rabbits and pheasants about. You'll see them.
Upstairs, there's a king-size bedroom with a good view over the fields, a double room, and a twin room. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.
You're on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. A footpath goes right past the gate if you want to walk from the door. Whitby town centre and the beach are about two minutes away by car. It feels quiet out here but you're close to everything.
In Whitby, there's the Abbey and the harbour. The coastal villages like Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes are a short drive up the coast. They're good for a walk and a look around.
For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. We've also put in an electric vehicle charger. The bedding is included.
