Glossop Cottage

Glossop Cottage is in Whitby. It's a terraced house, not right on the harbour but it's a ten minute walk down into the town centre.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is an en-suite to a double bedroom on the first floor. The other is a shower room on the same floor. The third bedroom is up in the attic, it's got twin beds. The stairs to that top floor are quite steep, just so you know. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it all done up in 2024.

Downstairs it's open plan. The kitchen is new and has a dishwasher. There's a utility room with a washing machine. The living area has a wood burning stove. We leave some logs for you to start with. Outside there's a small enclosed yard. It's paved, good for sitting out with a drink or rinsing off sandy stuff. You can bring one dog.

Whitby's the main thing here. You can walk down to the harbour, the Abbey, the 199 steps, all that. The beach is sandy when the tide's out. The North York Moors National Park starts just behind the town. The moors are great for walking and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam trains go from Grosmont, which is about a 15 minute drive away.

If you want to drive out, Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes south. It's a lovely old fishing village tumbling down the cliff. Staithes is about twenty minutes north, similar sort of thing. Sandsend is even closer, just up the coast, good for a long beach walk into Whitby. Scarborough is about half an hour south if you want a bigger seaside town with the theatre and that.

Facilities are all there: wifi, TV, bedding and towels are included, there's a highchair. There's parking for one car on the street outside.
