Hey Ho Cottage

Hey Ho Cottage is a semi-detached holiday house in Whitby. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There’s one shower room downstairs and a separate WC.

The place is a 4 Star. It’s clean and modern inside. The main living area is open plan, with a kitchen, dining table, and a sitting area with a TV. Sliding doors lead out to a private patio with a picnic bench.

One twin bedroom is on the ground floor. Upstairs there’s a king-size bedroom and another twin. The stairs are fine, just a normal staircase.

You get access to shared facilities on the development. There’s an indoor heated swimming pool you can book slots for, a couple of kids' play areas, and some BBQ and picnic spots in the grounds.

Location wise, it’s on the edge of Whitby, right by the old Cinder Track. You can walk into Whitby town centre along that path, which takes you over the viaduct. It’s about a 20-minute walk, maybe a bit less. Or you can walk the other way, south towards Robin Hood’s Bay. The path is good for cycling too.

Whitby has the lot, really. The harbour, the abbey, all the fish and chip shops. The North York Moors National Park is right on the doorstep. For a good day out, Robin Hood’s Bay is about a 15-minute drive. Staithes is about 20 minutes. Scarborough is half an hour if you want a bigger town with a seafront.

Included in the price: bedding and towels, WiFi, parking on the drive. There’s a washing machine. Sorry, no pets allowed.

If you’re planning trips, the National Trust Yorkshire page is useful for the coast and moors.
