Elm Cottage is in Newholm, just outside Whitby. It's a two minute drive into the town centre, or down to the beach. The cottage is one of four converted barns next to our farmhouse.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one double and one twin. One bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating.
Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining table, and living area. The sofa faces large glass doors that open onto the garden. The garden is lawned and has a picnic bench. It goes down to a pond, so you need to keep an eye on small children.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. There's a walking trail that goes right past the cottage. You'll often see rabbits, pheasants, sometimes deer in the fields.
Whitby is the main draw. The Abbey, the 199 steps, the old town streets. It's all there. The beach is sandy. For other coastal spots, Robin Hood's Bay is about ten minutes drive. Staithes is fifteen, Sandsend is five. They're all good for a walk and a chip shop lunch.
Facilities wise: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
If you're looking for group bookings, the four cottages together sleep 22.
