Oak Cottage
Oak Cottage is in Newholm. It's about two minutes in the car to the middle of Whitby, or down to the beach. It's one of four cottages here, converted from old sandstone barns next to our farmhouse. It's quiet.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with two single beds. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable.
Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen with a breakfast bar, a table for meals, and a sitting area. Big doors open straight out onto the garden. The garden is lawned and it goes down to a pond. There's a picnic bench out there.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors. There's a walking trail that goes past the cottage. You often see rabbits and pheasants about. Sometimes deer.
Whitby is very close. You've got the Abbey, the 199 steps, and the old town. The coastal path is there too. Other good spots along the coast like Sandsend, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's Bay are all within a half hour drive.
For facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine and a dishwasher. We've put in an electric vehicle charger. The garden is yours to use. Sorry, no pets.
