Driftwood At Whitehall is near Whitby. It's an apartment in a big, old building on the harbour front. You get a parking space, which is handy because parking in Whitby is a nightmare.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms: one double, one with two singles. One bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a Four Star rating, so it's comfortable, not basic. The kitchen is part of the living area. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The view is the main thing. You look right out at the harbour, and you can see the Abbey on the hill. You watch the boats come and go. To get into the town centre, you just walk along the harbour. It takes about ten minutes. You'll pass fish and chip shops and pubs on the way.
The stairs up to the apartment are shared and they're a bit grand, with pillars outside. Inside the building there's some old furniture and information about the place. It used to be a shipbuilder's house.
Whitby itself has the beach, the old town, and the 199 steps up to the Abbey. There are plenty of walks. You can take a boat trip from the harbour. The local pubs and a lot of the beaches are dog friendly. You can bring one dog.
For a longer drive, the North York Moors are about half an hour away. Robin Hood's Bay is fifteen minutes down the coast.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, parking, all bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
