This is Cliff Top Retreat in Whitby. It's on the West Cliff. You really can see the sea from the end of the road.
It's a first and second floor flat in a house. You come in through a shared hallway at ground level, then go up a private staircase to the main living space. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles. One is on the first floor with the living area, the other is up on the second floor under the eaves. There are two bathrooms, one has a bath and a separate shower, the other is just a shower room.
The living area is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, sofa and chairs around the TV. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-finished.
There's a small row of shops and takeaways directly opposite. The town centre is about a ten minute walk. To get to the beach, you go down a zig-zagging footpath from the end of the road. It's a proper cliff path, so it's a bit steep in places.
Whitby itself has everything you need. The Abbey is up on the East Cliff, you can see it from here. The 199 Steps lead up to it. The harbour has boat trips. Plenty of places for fish and chips.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got the North York Moors. Goathland is popular, that's where they filmed Heartbeat. Robin Hood's Bay is a short drive south, it's a great spot for fossil hunting.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, parking for one car on the driveway, bedding and towels are included. No pets.
