Foxglove
Foxglove is a cottage just outside Whitby. It's about a couple of miles from the harbour. You get views down over the town, the countryside, and out to the coast and abbey.
It sleeps four people. Two bedrooms, and both have their own shower ensuite. The rating is 4 Star. It feels quite new and well looked after.
The main room is open plan, kitchen and dining area together. The living room has glass doors that open out to the patio and garden. The garden is a decent size, mostly lawn, and it looks out over fields. There's outdoor furniture.
You can walk down to Whitby from here, but it's a steep walk back up. The Cleveland Way footpath is nearby for clifftop walks towards Robin Hood's Bay. Saltwick Bay is about a ten minute walk down. The Cinder Track, which is the old railway line, is close by too. Good for walking or cycling.
In Whitby you've got the usual, harbour, abbey, fish and chips. Scarborough is about a 25 minute drive. The North York Moors National Park is on your doorstep for driving or walking. National Trust Yorkshire properties like Nunnington Hall are within half an hour.
The facilities are what you'd expect. Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
If you have an electric car, the nearest public charging point is a few minutes' walk away in the village.
