Quincey Cottage is on Ellerby Lane in Whitby. It's just off Church Street where the cobbles start. You're right in the middle of town here.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. One double is on the first floor, the other is up another flight under the eaves. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The stairs are typical for a cottage. They're fine, but watch your head on the beams upstairs.
The living area is open plan with a gas fire. The kitchen looks out to a small, enclosed yard. There's an outhouse out there which is handy for storing wetsuits or beach gear. The beach is a short walk away.
You can bring up to two dogs. The cottage is named after the owner's terrier, Quincey.
Everything you need is on the doorstep. There are shops, cafes, and pubs a minute's walk away. The beach and the harbour are close. For walking, you've got the Cleveland Way coast path. The famous 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey are just up the road. The views from the abbey are worth the climb. The English Heritage site for Whitby Abbey has the opening times.
Within about half an hour's drive you can get to Robin Hood's Bay, the North York Moors Railway at Grosmont, or villages like Goathland. The North York Moors National Park website is good for planning walks.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and bed linen and towels are included. Parking is on-street nearby. The cottage is decorated for Christmas if you're booking over that period.
