Conflict Cottage is in Whitby town centre, a couple of minutes' walk from the harbour. It's a tall, thin place on three floors. You get the ground floor patio to yourselves.
It's just for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom on the same floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently so it feels quite fresh.
The kitchen is on the ground floor. It's small but has what you need, including a dishwasher. The living room is on the middle floor with a TV. The bedroom is right at the top. The stairs are steep, just so you know.
You're right in the middle of everything. The harbour, the shops, the 199 Steps up to the Abbey, it's all on your doorstep. There's always a bit of noise, but you'd expect that. The Whitby Abbey site is the main historic draw.
You can walk to the beach from the cottage. For a bigger walk, the Cleveland Way coastal path runs right past the town.
Within half an hour's drive you've got Robin Hood's Bay, which is a steep, pretty village. Goathland on the North York Moors is about the same distance. Staithes is also along that coast.
Facilities: there's WiFi, bedding and towels are included, there's the patio, and you can bring one dog. It's decorated for Christmas if you book then. There's no dedicated parking, but there are public car parks close by.
