Beagle Lodge

Beagle Lodge is in Runswick Bay. It's a terraced house, one of a row of holiday lodges. They're on Kettleness Lane, which is just a two minute walk down to the beach.

The lodge sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and two bathrooms. One is an en-suite shower room to the main bedroom, the other is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is clean and in good working order. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.

Outside is a decent-sized, enclosed deck at the front. It gets the sun. It's secure for dogs, which is why we're happy to take up to three. You need to bring their bedding.

Runswick Bay itself is sheltered, so the sea is usually calm. Good for swimming or paddleboarding, not for surfing. There's a sailing club. The Cleveland Way footpath runs right through the village. You can walk along the cliffs to Staithes one way or Sandsend the other. Staithes is about a mile and a half along the coast path, and Whitby is about six miles.

In the village, there are two pubs. The one at the top of the hill does food. The one down near the beach has the better view. There's also a small cafe. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Whitby.

Drive times from the lodge: Whitby is 15 minutes. Staithes is 10 minutes. Sandsend is 15 minutes. Saltburn-by-the-Sea, which is more for surfing, is about 25 minutes. The North York Moors are right there too, maybe 20 minutes inland.

Parking is on-site, right outside the lodge. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi works fine.
