Eventide is in Brixham. It's up the hillside behind All Saints Church. The church bells ring, but they keep normal hours.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's well-equipped. The stairs are quite steep, typical for a cottage built into the hill. You enter through a little porch which is good for boots and coats.
The living room looks over the garden and the church. The kitchen has what you need. There's a small bistro table outside. Upstairs, the twin bedroom is at the front. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. Up another flight is the double bedroom and a separate games room with a daybed and a TV.
The garden is on a slope. The view looks over the rooftops to the sea.
You're a few minutes' walk down to the harbour. It's a proper working port. There are fish stalls, shops, and plenty of pubs and places to eat.
Berry Head is a short walk away. It's a nature reserve with an old fort and a lighthouse. The views are very good. The South West Coast Path runs right through it. You can walk to Kingswear from there if you want a long one.
You can get boats from Brixham to Torquay or Paignton. Totnes is about a half hour drive inland, it has a castle and a market. For a wider look at what's around, National Trust Devon and the English Riviera sites are useful.
Facilities: there's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and parking for one car. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
