This is Samphire Cottage in Brixham. It's an end-of-terrace cottage, one of the old fisherman's places down near the harbour. It sleeps three people. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done up to a high standard.
The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and you can see the harbour from the window. The second bedroom is smaller and has a door out to a little patio area with a water feature. The living area is open plan, so the kitchen, dining and sitting room are all together.
The best part is the patio. It faces south-east, so you get the sun, and it looks right over the harbour. It's about a five minute walk down to the boats. You can sit out there with a drink and watch everything going on. It's a proper working harbour, so there's always something to see.
Parking is on-street in the local area, or there are public car parks nearby. You won't get a dedicated space right outside.
Brixham itself is a proper fishing town. The high street slopes down to the harbour. There's a shop about 400 yards away and a pub even closer. The seafood restaurants down there are good, they get the catch straight off the boats.
You can walk the South West Coast Path from here. Berry Head is a national nature reserve and it's right on the edge of town. If you want to go further, Torquay is about a 20 minute drive along the coast. Paignton Zoo is about 25 minutes away. Dartmouth is roughly half an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV, wifi, and all the bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
