The Palm House is in Paignton, on the harbour side. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level which is good if stairs are a problem. It's about a ten minute walk down to Hollicombe or Preston beach. You can see the sea from two of the bedrooms and the kitchen.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room with a shower, the other has a bath with a shower over it. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a big, solid family house from the 60s, not a twee cottage. The garden is large and very private, completely walled in.
The garden has a few things for kids. There's a wooden play frame with a slide and swings, a trampoline set into the ground, and a sandpit made from an old boat. There's a decked area with some outdoor sofas too.
Inside, there's a main living room and a separate playroom with a big TV. The kids' toys and books are there. The kitchen is big with a table for eight and a sofa. You can see the sea from the table.
Paignton seafront is close by, with the pier and the harbour. Good Links mini-golf is a classic. Torquay is a short drive or bus ride away for more shops and restaurants. Further out, you've got Coleton Fishacre and Overbeck's for National Trust gardens. Dartmouth and Totnes are both about a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher. Bed linen and towels are included. No pets allowed.
