The Lookout 43 is on a hill above Brixham harbour. You get to it by a set of steps from the road, about twenty or so. It's not a problem for most people, but something to know if you have heavy bags.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is upstairs with twin beds and its own shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and recently done up.
Downstairs is all one space. The living room has a wood burner and a window seat looking over the bay. The kitchen is fine for making meals. There's a utility room with a Belfast sink, a washing machine, and a door out to the back courtyard. You can sit out there. There's a coal barbecue.
The front terrace gets the sun. You can sit there with a drink and watch the boats.
It's about a ten-minute walk down into the middle of Brixham. You can leave the car. The harbour, shops, and all the fish restaurants are down there. There's a local pub a few minutes' walk away.
The South West Coast Path runs right past the bottom of the hill. You can walk to Berry Head in one direction, which is a National Trust site. In the other direction, you can walk towards Paignton. National Trust Berry Head. For a bigger beach, Goodrington Sands is about a ten-minute drive.
The English Riviera is all within half an hour. Torquay, Paignton, Dartmouth. You can get boat trips from Brixham harbour itself. For a day out further afield, Dartmoor is about forty minutes by car.
Facilities: WiFi, Smart TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
