Samphire Lodge
This is Samphire Lodge, in Brixham. It's attached to our house, but you have your own front door and space.
It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms, and each one has its own shower room or bathroom. There's also a separate wet room downstairs by the front door, which is handy if you've been at the beach.
The place is on the main road coming into town. It's about a ten minute level walk down to the harbour and the shops. You can hear a bit of traffic sometimes, but you're close to everything without being right in the middle of it.
Out the front there's a small patio area with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the evening, which is nice.
Inside, it's clean and comfortable. We've put in things we like, a mix of modern and some older bits. It's got a 5 Star rating. There's a woodburner for cooler nights, and all the usual things like a dishwasher and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
There's a shop a couple of minutes away, and a pub and restaurant about five minutes walk. For the beach, Shoalstone is a short walk along the coast path. The Berry Head Nature Reserve is very close, good for walks and views.
If you want to go further, you can get a boat from the harbour over to Torquay. Dartmouth and Paignton are about a twenty minute drive. Totnes and Dartmoor are within half an hour.
