This is Hideaway. It's a two bedroom chalet on a site just outside Dartmouth, about a five minute drive from the town.
We've had it completely redone, so everything's new. It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything's on one level, which is handy. The doorways are wide and there are no steps at the entrance, so it's accessible for a wheelchair coming in. There's a view of the river from the living room.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and comfortable. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, and wifi. The TV is one of those smart ones. The sofa is a big corner one. The kitchen appliances are good. The main bedroom has a Tempur mattress.
Because it's on a site just outside the town itself, it's quiet. You can hear the birds. Dartmouth gets very busy, especially in summer, so it's nice to come back to somewhere peaceful.
The closest pub is about half a mile away. A shop is about a mile and a half. The town centre is two miles. You can drive in, or there's a park and ride. The nearest beach is also about two miles.
From here, you're well placed for days out. Woodlands theme park is about three miles away. The Dartmouth Steam Railway is a big draw. You can get a Round Robin ticket that uses the train, a river ferry, and a bus to see a few towns in a day.
For National Trust places, you've got Greenway, which was Agatha Christie's house, and Coleton Fishacre. The Royal Naval College is in Dartmouth itself. You can get boat trips on the river from the town.
The South West Coast Path is accessible nearby. There's local fishing if that's your thing. A golf course is close by.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
