This is Tuckenhay, number 3 Castle Cottage. It's in the little hamlet of Tuckenhay on Bow Creek, part of the River Dart. You're about five miles inland from Dartmouth.
The cottage sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps when you've got a few people staying. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The main thing here is the location. It's part of the old Tuckenhay Mill conversion. You get access to the leisure facilities on the site, which includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room, and a sauna. There's also a kids' play area.
In the cottage itself, you've got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding is included and we can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
The local pub, The Maltsters Arms, is about a fifteen minute walk along the creek. It does food and you can sit by the water.
For days out, Dartmouth is a short drive. Totnes is about three miles. For beaches, Blackpool Sands is a lovely shingle beach about twenty minutes by car. For surfing, you'd go to Bantham, which is about half an hour away. There's plenty of walking, both on the South West Coast Path and up on Dartmoor, which is about thirty minutes to drive to the edge.
