Tuckenhay, 3 Castle Cottage
This is Castle Cottage, number 3 Tuckenhay Mill. It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. That's useful with six people.
It's one of a group of cottages around an old paper mill on Bow Creek, which is a little inlet off the River Dart. The setting is quiet and green. You can watch boats from here.
The cottage has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding is included. We can take one well-behaved dog.
As part of the mill complex, you get access to the shared leisure facilities. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room, and a sauna. There's also a kids' play area.
The stairs inside are typical for a cottage conversion, so they're a bit steep and turned.
There's a pub you can walk to along the lane. For a bigger shop, you'd need to drive to Totnes, which is about three miles away.
You're about five miles from Dartmouth. It's a nice harbour town. For beaches, Blackpool Sands is a 20 minute drive and Bantham for surfing is about half an hour. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible from several points nearby.
