Poppy

Poppy is one of the cottages at Wheeldon Farm in Curtisknowle. It's a barn conversion on a working farm. The farm is about 240 acres, so you're surrounded by fields. It's quiet.

It sleeps seven in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.

The cottage has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There's a patio and garden area for you to use. Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.

The main thing here is the space and the on-site facilities. There's a heated indoor swimming pool you book privately. There's also a big games room with an American pool table, table football, and table tennis. Upstairs in the games room there's a fitness area with some exercise machines.

The farm also runs an off-road motorbike centre. You can book lessons for that, from age seven upwards. All the kit is provided. It's separate from the cottage, but it's right there if you're interested. They do other activities too, like clay shooting and archery, but you need to book all that in advance.

Location-wise, you're in the South Hams. It's about seven miles to Totnes, which is on the River Dart. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are each about seven miles as well, so maybe 15 or 20 minutes by car. The coast with beaches like Blackpool Sands is about a 15-20 minute drive. Paignton and Torquay are further, about 40 minutes.

The nearest pub is about two miles away. The shop is in Marldon, about three miles. You'll want a car.

There are three other similar cottages here, so if you're a bigger group you could book more than one.
