The Garden Cottage is on our farm in Ugborough. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing about it is the view. It looks straight out over our fishing lake, which is stocked with carp. There's also an old Romani caravan parked in the garden, which is just there as a feature. You can't stay in it, but it's interesting to look at. The garden itself is mature and private.
Because it's all on the ground floor and has a level entrance, it works well for people with limited mobility. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair inside.
It's a working sheep farm, so you'll see the sheep in the fields around. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the farm tracks.
Facilities wise: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The local pub is about three quarters of a mile down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop and a restaurant are in Modbury, which is about two miles away. Modbury is a nice little town with some independent shops.
The coast is about a 20 minute drive. Bigbury-on-Sea, Bantham, Thurlestone. Good for beaches, walking, surfing. The South West Coast Path is all along there. Dartmoor is about 25 minutes north. Plymouth is roughly half an hour for a bigger city day out.
