The Barn House
The Barn House is in Ugborough. It's a proper Devon village on the edge of Dartmoor. You're three miles from the moor itself.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which feels about right. It's comfortable.
Now, a few things about the house itself. The stairs are steep. They're original cottage stairs, with a handrail. Mind your head on the beams upstairs, some of them are quite low. The bathroom is up a few steps from the landing, and there are two more steps into the bedrooms. It's all part of the place.
Downstairs is open plan. Kitchen, dining area, and living space with a wood burner. The kitchen has what you need. Outside is a courtyard garden with a patio, some seating, and a charcoal barbecue. It gets the sun.
The village has a church and two pubs, both a couple of minutes' walk away. They serve food.
For days out, Dartmoor is right there. You can walk for miles. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Mothecombe, Bantham, Bigbury on Sea are all in that direction. Plymouth is about 15 miles if you need a city, for the Barbican or the cinema or shops.
Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair and a stairgate if you need them. You can bring one dog.
