Umber House
Umber House is in Harbourneford, which is a tiny hamlet on the edge of Dartmoor. It's a converted barn next to our house. We did it up a few years ago.
It's for two people only. One bedroom, one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
You have your own little patio area. But you're welcome to use our big garden too, it's through a gate. There's a summerhouse and a wildlife pond. There's parking right outside.
Inside, there's a woodburning stove for colder nights. There's a TV, Wi-Fi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
It's very quiet here. The nearest shop and pub are in South Brent, about five minutes by car. The A38 is two miles away, which makes getting around easy.
You're right in Dartmoor National Park. You can walk straight from the door onto the moor. You'll see the ponies. For a proper trip out, Buckfastleigh is three miles away. It's got Buckfast Abbey and you can get a steam train to Totnes from there.
Dartmouth and the coast are about a half hour drive. Plymouth is less than half an hour the other way. If you have an electric car, there's a new rapid charging station in Buckfastleigh with plenty of points.
