Hope Cottage is in Brownston, Devon. It's a terrace cottage, but you're not part of a big block, just a short row. It's got a 3 Star rating.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The stairs are fine but they're cottage stairs, so they turn a bit.
Downstairs is open-plan. It's just one room for the kitchen, dining table, and sofa area. You can see the original stone features. It's furnished nicely, nothing too fancy.
Outside, there's a private, enclosed courtyard at the front with a table and a BBQ. It's secure for dogs. Out the back, there's a shared lawned area with paths that lead into the Colmer Estate grounds.
You can use the 28 acres of the Estate. That's woods, meadows, and an orchard. They have an outdoor pool open in summer, an indoor pool all year, a tennis court, and course fishing. You'll need to check with the Estate office for any fees or booking times.
For the beach, you're looking at a 20-minute drive. Kingsbridge is close for shops and food. The South Hams area has a lot of coastal paths and coves.
The cottage has a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
If you're planning trips, the main websites are good for checking what's open: National Trust Devon and South Devon National Landscape.
