Dray Cottage

Dray Cottage is at Fallapit, just outside East Allington. It's a converted barn, very spacious. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.

The cottage is part of a small group of barns. There are about three acres of shared grounds, including an all-weather tennis court anyone can use.

A big perk is you get free use of the leisure facilities at Dartmouth Golf and Country Club. It's a ten minute drive. That gets you an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and gym. Golfers also get a discount on green fees. The owner can also arrange two free adult memberships for Thurlestone Tennis Club, which is down by the beach.

It's a quiet, rural spot. There's a pub about half a mile away. The main village shop is three miles off in East Allington. The nearest beaches are a ten to fifteen minute drive. Slapton Sands, Beesands, and Bantham are all good. Thurlestone and Bigbury are a bit further.

For towns, you've got Kingsbridge, Totnes, and Dartmouth all within about a twenty minute drive. Dartmouth is on the river, good for boat trips and has a lot of shops and restaurants. Totnes is an interesting historic town. Salcombe is about half an hour away, which is where you'll see all the sailing boats.

There's lots of walking on the South West Coast Path. You're also in the South Devon National Landscape, so plenty of nice country lanes and views. A few National Trust properties are within a half hour drive, like Coleton Fishacre.

Facilities at the cottage: enclosed garden, patio with a BBQ, parking for a few cars. Inside there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. It's family-friendly, with a cot, highchair, and stairgate available. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
