Dray Cottage
Dray Cottage is a barn conversion near East Allington. It sleeps ten, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms.
It’s part of a small group of buildings around a courtyard. You share about three acres of grounds with the other properties. There’s an all-weather tennis court on site you can use. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.
Inside, it’s been done to a high standard. It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen has a dishwasher, there’s a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
You get free access to the leisure facilities at the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club. It’s about a ten minute drive. That includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym. If you play golf, you get a discount on green fees. The owner can also sort out two free adult memberships for Thurlestone Tennis Club, which is right by the beach.
Location wise, you’re in the South Hams. It’s quiet. The nearest pub is about half a mile away. There’s a shop in Kingsbridge, which is three miles. You’re roughly halfway between Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth, so it’s easy to get to any of them.
The coast is close. Good beaches like Slapton Sands, Beesands, and Bantham are within a fifteen to twenty minute drive. Dartmouth is about ten miles. You can get boat trips on the river there. Totnes is an interesting town, about five miles up the river from Dartmouth.
For walking, the South West Coast Path is easily accessible. There are several National Trust properties and gardens nearby if that’s your thing.
You can bring two dogs. There’s parking on site.
