It's called Otter House. It's in Burlestone, near Slapton. It's a big detached house, Regency-ish style, set back from the road in about two and a half acres of its own land.
It sleeps fourteen people. Seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, so the queue for the loo shouldn't be too bad. We're rated 3 Star. That means it's clean and comfortable, but don't expect hotel-level finish everywhere. There are two living rooms, so groups can spread out. One has a TV and a wood burner, the other has a piano. There's a bar billiards table in the conservatory.
The kitchen is a proper farmhouse style and big enough for everyone to sit down together. There's also a separate downstairs bedroom with its own little kitchen area, which can be useful.
The gardens are private. There are duck ponds and a bit of an orchard. You can use the BBQ. Parking is on site for several cars.
It's a good spot for large groups or a few families together. We take up to three dogs.
For things to do, Slapton Ley is right next door. Good for a walk or some birdwatching. The sea at Slapton Sands is about a mile away. The South West Coast Path is accessible from here if you want a longer walk.
Kingsbridge is about four miles for shops and a leisure centre. Dartmouth is roughly ten miles. Plymouth, Dartmoor, and Totnes are all within a half hour drive.
Everything you'd need is here: WiFi, washing machine, TVs, logs for the burner are provided. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair.
