Solstice
This is Solstice. It's a maisonette in Dartmouth, which means it's on three floors. It's a period building but inside it feels quite modern. You're right in the town, about a five minute walk from the main part.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the river to Kingswear and the mouth of the Dart. You can sit and watch the boats from the living room, or from the decking outside.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and, usefully, three bathrooms. So nobody has to queue. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The stairs are a bit steep in places, as you'd expect in an old building. There's a patio and a decked area with furniture. Parking is on site, which is a plus in Dartmouth. It has WiFi.
You're very close to everything in Dartmouth. The shops, cafes, and the Naval College are all a short walk. The town is busy in summer, but you can step back from it here.
For beaches, Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands are about fifteen minutes away by car. If you want to walk, the South West Coast Path is easily accessed.
You can get a ferry over to Kingswear from the town, and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway starts from there. Totnes is about a twenty minute drive upriver if you fancy a different market town.
For wider planning, the National Trust and South Devon National Landscape sites are useful.
