Tuckenhay, Mill Spring

Tuckenhay Mill Spring is a cottage for three people. It's one of several cottages at Tuckenhay Mill, set along a creek off the River Dart. It's very peaceful here.

It's a two bedroom place with one bathroom. It's got a 4 star rating. You can bring one dog.

The layout is a bit different. The main living area, kitchen and dining space is upstairs. It leads out to two small south-facing balconies that look over the stream towards the old mill building. Downstairs is the main bedroom, its ensuite shower room, and another day room that faces the water. Your own footpath from the garden goes over a bridge to the main mill facilities.

As it's part of the mill complex, you get use of the shared leisure facilities. There are two indoor swimming pools and one outdoor pool, a games room, and a sauna. There's a play area for children too.

In the cottage itself, it's open plan upstairs. You've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site.

The village is quiet. There's a pub you can walk to along the creek. For a shop, you'll need to drive about ten minutes to Totnes, which is a market town. Dartmouth is about fifteen minutes by car.

For beaches, Blackpool Sands is about a twenty minute drive. It's a shingle beach with good facilities. Bantham, which is good for surfing, is about half an hour away. The South West Coastal Path is easily accessible for walks.

Dartmoor is within half an hour if you fancy a change from the coast. For a historical day out, the National Trust's Agatha Christie house, Greenway, is nearby on the river.
