This is Papermaker's at Tuckenhay Mill. It's a cottage in Bow Creek, which is a quiet bit of the River Dart. It's not isolated, it's part of a converted paper mill with other cottages.
It sleeps eight people. There are three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's useful with a group. The place has a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. We accept one well-behaved dog.
There are shared leisure facilities on site. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room, and a sauna. You also get your own garden and parking.
The stairs are typical for an old building. They can be a bit steep and winding. It's worth keeping an eye on if anyone has mobility issues.
There's a decent pub you can walk to along the creek. For a bigger shop, you'd need to drive to Totnes, which is about three miles. Dartmouth is five miles away. From there you can get boat trips on the Dart.
It's a good spot for the South Hams. You're about a 20 minute drive from beaches like Blackpool Sands. Bantham, for surfing, is about half an hour away. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible from several points.
If you're planning days out, these sites are helpful: National Trust Devon and Dartmoor National Park. Greenway, Agatha Christie's house, is nearby and run by the National Trust.
In the cottage you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and a barbecue. Bedding is included, and we can provide a cot and highchair.
