Dartmouth is about five miles away. That’s where you’ll find the castle, the naval college, and boat trips. Totnes is three miles, it’s a market town with a Norman castle and interesting shops. For beaches, Blackpool Sands is about a 20 minute drive and Bantham, which is good for surfing, is about half an hour.
You’re well placed for walking. The South West Coast Path is nearby, and Dartmoor is about a 30 minute drive. If you like historic houses, Greenway (Agatha Christie’s house) is close by, and there are other National Trust properties in the area.
