Tuckenhay, Mill Stream

This is Mill Stream. It's in Tuckenhay, which is by a creek off the River Dart. It's for two people.

It's a 4 Star cottage, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's all on one level. You've got a living, kitchen and dining area together, with doors out to a small south-facing balcony over the stream. The bedroom and shower room are through a door off the main room.

Being here is about the location. The cottage is part of Tuckenhay Mill, so you're right by the water. There are footpaths from the garden. You share access to the Mill's facilities, which includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room, and a sauna. It's a quiet spot.

The local pub, The Maltsters Arms, is about a ten minute walk along the creek. It does food. For a proper shop, you'd drive to Totnes, which is about three miles. Dartmouth is five miles.

For beaches, Blackpool Sands is about a 20 minute drive. It's good for swimming. Bantham, which is better for surfing, is about half an hour. The South West Coast Path is easily reached from either place if you want a walk.

If you want a day out, Greenway (Agatha Christie's house) is nearby, and you've got Dartmoor National Park about 30 minutes inland.

Facilities here: bedding and towels are included, there's a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking. You can bring one dog. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
