This is Mill Leat, a cottage at the Tuckenhay Mill site. It's for two people.
The layout is a bit different. The bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. Upstairs is the main living space, which is all one room: kitchen, dining, and sitting area. That floor has two south-facing balconies which look over the water towards the old mill building. There's also a separate day room by the river.
You get the 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's got a washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding is included. There's parking on site.
It's part of a larger site, so you share some facilities. There are three swimming pools, two indoors and one outdoors. There's also a games room, a sauna, and a play area. You're not completely isolated, you'll see other guests around.
The local pub, The Maltsters Arms, is about a fifteen minute walk down the lane. It's right on the creek. The path is unlit, so take a torch for the walk back.
You're on Bow Creek, which is a side branch of the River Dart. It's quiet. For a proper town, Totnes is about three miles away. Dartmouth is about five. Both have shops and places to eat.
For beaches, you're about a 20 minute drive from places like Blackpool Sands. The South Devon National Landscape coast path is easily accessible. Dartmoor is about a 30 minute drive inland. There's a lot of National Trust property around here, like Greenway.
A few practical things. The stairs to the living area are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper than modern ones. It's not really a secluded, single cottage. You have your own space, but you'll be aware of the other cottages and the shared facilities. If you're looking for complete solitude, this isn't it. If you want a comfortable base with good amenities to explore from, it works well.
