Galmpton Farm Close

Galmpton Farm Close is a bungalow in Galmpton, which is just outside Brixham. It's on one level, so the step into the front door is the only one. You can park right on the drive.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. There are two separate toilets, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. The garden is enclosed and quite private, with a table and chairs.

Inside, the living room has a sofa, a couple of armchairs, and a rocking chair. The kitchen has what you'd need, plus a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a conservatory with a dining table that looks out to the garden.

Galmpton village has a shop, a post office, and a pub called The Manor Inn. The pub does good food and allows dogs. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway runs just on the edge of the village. You can walk to Churston station to catch it. There's also a vintage bus that goes to Agatha Christie's house.

The nearest beach is Broadsands, about a mile away. It's sandy and good for families. Dogs aren't allowed there from May to September, but you can walk to Elberry Cove from there, where dogs are allowed all year. Elberry is shingle and has the ruins of an old bath house. Both have rock pools when the tide's out.

You're close to the River Dart. You can get a ferry from nearby to Dittisham or Dartmouth. For walking, the South West Coast Path is accessible. I've left some local walk books and maps in the cottage.

Further afield, you've got Brixham harbour about ten minutes away. Paignton and Torquay are within a twenty-minute drive. Goodrington Sands has a water slide park next to it.

The bungalow is wheelchair accessible at the entrance, but I'd suggest contacting me to talk through the layout inside if you have specific needs. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. All bedding is included, and there's a highchair if needed.
