Galmpton Farm Close

Galmpton Farm Close is a bungalow in Galmpton village, just outside Brixham. It's a three-star cottage, so it's comfortable and clean rather than luxurious. The main thing is it's all on one level, which is good for accessibility. The door is wide enough for a wheelchair and there are no steps to get in.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds. One bathroom with a shower, plus two separate toilets, which is handy. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs and children. You can sit out there. Parking is on a long drive right at the property.

Inside, there's a living room, a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, and a conservatory with a dining table. You get a view of the garden from there. I've left some books of local walks and maps for you.

The village has a shop, a post office, and a pub that does food and allows dogs. There's a bus stop. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway runs through the edge of the village. You can walk to Churston station to catch it.

The nearest proper beach is Broadsands, about a mile away. It's sandy but dogs aren't allowed from May to October. Just past it is Elberry Cove, which is more secluded and allows dogs all year. It has rock pools and the ruins of an old bath house. Further along, Goodrington Sands has a family pub and a waterslide park nearby.

You're close to the River Dart. You can get a ferry from there across to Dittisham or down to Dartmouth. There are lots of footpaths and green lanes for walking. The South West Coast Path runs from Brixham to Paignton and Torquay. Agatha Christie's house, Greenway, is a short bus ride away.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding is included. There's a highchair, WiFi, and a TV.
